Rydia does not like Kain

I hate, hate, hate KainxRydia pairings. I really do.

I see it as either a) a hook up for the only two definite single characters in the game, because Rydia and Edge don't get together in the end, b) people who really, really like Kain and think he's like the coolest character ever and feel that he needs a hot girlfriend so they can write sloppy fan ficition sexx0rz, or c) people who really, really like Kain and also really, really like Rydia and feel that they'd get along far better than Rydia and Edge.

Here's my personal view on it.

In the game, after Rydia comes back as an adult, I've noticed that she NEVER talks directly to Kain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have played the game many, many times and I found this rather interesting. Maybe during the scene where Kain betrays everyone AGAIN, she might have yelled something, but, well, who wouldn't have yelled SOMETHING when one of your trusted allies runs off with the one thing you're trying to protect?

Kain is the one who first suggested that he and Cecil kill Rydia to finish off the King's orders. You kinda don't forget that. Cecil made amends with Rydia. Kain never did.

Also, since Kain delightfully recalls Rydia as merely "the child!?"when Rydia rejoins the group, I don't really think that's adequate terms for "omfg I luvs joo let's have sexXOrz!" or anything like that. I'm sure this point could be argued but from what I could get from the game, Kain was flabbergasted that Rydia survived, grew up quickly in a short time, and had saved their butts, not..."omg joo r hawt!" Hm.

I know, I know, fan pairings are fun and all, but I suppose I'm somewhat on the fence between two worlds of nerd. I enjoy reasoning and logic with my tea, not hormonal impracticalities. Maybe that and I'm getting older. I just feel that Edge and Rydia had more chemistry than Rydia would with Kain because...well, geez, I dunno, they interacted more??

But who am I to say? This is just my personal opinion, of course. I just cringe every time I see KainxRydia fanart or poetry or whatever. It makes me want to slam my head into the way and throttle someone.

Maybe that's why I stopped watching Lost. The whole Jack-Kate-Sawyer thing was driving me nuts.

Anyway, I DO welcome comments and your own opinions on the matter. Not like anyone looks at my crap anyway, but if there were to be a KainxRydia fan that looks at this piece of s@$t, then please, I'd like to hear your side. Like I've said before, I don't completely understand the reasoning behind the pairing other than my own musings on what it could be, so I'd love to be enlightened.
