Modern Night Elves

Here is my entry for group contest, "Night Elves Meet the 21st Century."

I got this cheesy idea of my night elf warrior, Cheira Starfall, tending to a wound that the druid Truion Shadowcreek sustained. Sooo...the image came to be and a story came right after, haha. I felt like I was writing one of those 80's teen romance novels!

In the 21st Century, Cheira is a nurse at a middle school where Truion also teaches at. She was honorably discharged from the military after surviving an attack on her unit. Looking to settle down after a particularly hectic lifestyle, she chose to take the job of a school nurse. It soon became quickly apparent that the job was quite rewarding but not without its quirks too.

Fresh from college, Truion Shadowcreek took the position for a 6th grade science teacher. He took a more hands on approach with his students, encouraging them to experiment with what they were learning. However, after a brief introduction to the school nurse, Truion realized he had a crush. Somehow, one of his students found out and the class began to pester him to ask the nurse out.

Unfortunately, Truion was too shy to do so. He was unable to work up the courage to talk to Cheira unless it was a brief "hello" in the faculty room. So Truion's 6th grade science class hatched a plan to force the two to talk.

While conducting an experiment on Bunsen burners, one of the students manage to trick Truion to check his "faulty" burner. He managed to successfully burn the teacher's hand, forcing him to resort to the first aid kit. However, the students had hidden the first aid kit. The entire class began to shout at him to go to the nurse, and in defeat, Truion ordered the class to stay still while he left to get medical attention from the nurse.

Of course, it wasn't long until the class sneaked out to see if their plan worked. And sure enough, school nurse Cheira was gently talking to Truion in a light, friendly manner that was different from how she normally talked to others.

As the class began to gather around the door to the nurse's office, the principal noticed what was going on and came up behind the kids. It seemed that their plan was about to be foiled...
